  Girls Football, Poulner Junior School
April 24th 2009

Poulner Junior School in Ringwood played host to over 100 Girls from the New Forest for the seventh New Forest Primary School Sport Girls Football Competition.

With the eleven teams split into two groups it was rivals Ashley and New Milton that set the pace winning all of their group games, making them both early favourites to lift the trophy.

Alongside Orchard and New Milton in the semi-finals were Ringwood and three time winners Orchard. Both games went to a penalty shoot-out, with Ashley beating Orchard 2-1 and New Milton beating Ringwood 2-0 on penalties.

It was Orchard that won the bronze medals by seeing off Ringwood in the third and fourth playoff. The final was again very close and was for the second year running decided on penalties. This time it was last years beaten finalist Ashley that finished on top.

The referees this year were supplied by Brockenhurst College.
